Twin turbos/desktop dyno

I've already posted this elsewhere without much reponse, but here it is again. I'm trying to simulate twin turbos on dektop dyno 2000 but it only allows for one. Problem is when I double the flow and surge flow ratings power decreases and vice versa. What am I missing?

Re: Twin turbos/desktop dyno

I've used Desktop Dyno before, it's awful with boosted systems. er "acquire" a copy of Engine Analyzer Pro. I think what he's getting at is that he doubles the surge and CFM effectively making it a twins setup. I can't remember if there is an option for exhaust flow, but by the same token I remember DD doing the same thing when I was playing with it.

Re: Twin turbos/desktop dyno

Exactly what I meant. So is there any way to correct it?

Re: Twin turbos/desktop dyno

Here's what I found out messing around with DD2000 and comparing it to results from engine analyzer pro. (This is of course assuming that engine analyzer is more accurate.) When I double flow and pressure on DD2000 it becomes fairly accurate above 4k rpm, but off below that. When I put in the specs for a single turbo it becomes pretty accurate below 4k, but waaay off above. So the best compromise would seem to be only raising flow and pressure 50%, but it's still biased twoard upper rpm being more accurate.

So I guess the question is, which program is more accurate overall?

Re: Twin turbos/desktop dyno

well you would only double the flow numbers, not the pressure ratio, the boost should remain the same reguardless of the amount of turbos you have

Re: Twin turbos/desktop dyno

I know, pressure is a constant- but since the program's inaccurate the only way to simulate twin turbos is to increase pressure and flow. So which program is more accurate excluding twin turbos?
