T51/32 single turbo setup could use some Megasquirt help though

T51/32 single turbo setup could use some Megasquirt help though

Its not the prettiest thing in the world but i have put togeather a 1989 T-Top Camaro RS!It was a 305.Tore that out put a freshly rebuild 357 with 4 bolt mains in.Kept the old throttle body on it so it was an easy switch out!

I bought a Borg Warner IHI GM1 turbo off a 6.2 92 diesel.I have read it will support up to 500hp and that is the max flow for a standard TBI unit so i beleive i have a pretty good match up!

Anyhow at 2500 rpm i am expecting to make ab 8-10Psi of boost!I figure that for the simple reason that a diesels max rpm is about 2500-3000 and thats redline, the boost on the diesels r 10-12Psi max at 2000-2500rpm.This turbo should spool pretty fast but i have alot of piping thats why i think it will boost a little late!

I have the fuel system to supply all this too!I bought and installed two brand new 80lb injectors out of a 454 throttle body!Yes at 13Psi it will only support about 270hp.But then i installed a Fuel Pressure Regulator i am turning the Psi up to about 45.This makes the 80lb injectors to about 150lb injectors which should hold 500-525hp!

I have an intercooler and a home made bonnet made out of 5" Exhaust pipe from a semi stack!It is flared at the end to help it fit over the TBI.All of my piping from the turbo to the intercooler and to the bonnet is all 2.5"!The down pipe from the turbo is also 2.5" and is all the way back to the catback!Not sure if i should cut the muffler out it does not have a Cat either?!?

Okay the MS Question i am taking Rpm for the Tach from the Purple/White Wire from the HEI unit but the MS is for some reason not reading Tach while cranking any ideas?I do have Power while cranking cause i can see my TPS value change while i press on the pedal!

what MS setup do you have? need more info on the MS side of things. And how do you have the ignitiion Configured in the MS? What pin do you have the ppl/white wire connected to in the MS.

What TBI pump are you running that will provide the GPH you need at 45 PSI + boost PSI? Are you sure the injectors will operate properly at 45 PSI and not lock up? Your 500-525 BHP estimate is also at 100% DC. Just some things to think about.

If that turbo is a 51mm comp. inducer then it will be in over-speed mode for 500 bhp.
