Thats true, its just I can actually find a few 9in rears for like 1500. I havent seen a 12bolt 4 anything less then 2000, you got a point though

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

Thats true, IIRC, the 12 bolt loses 3% less than the 9". At 750hp thats 22 more hp getting to the ground. I think the s60 is another 2%. But those are a pita I hear.

You found a used 9? I'll take whatever I can get. I can get a 12 new for 2200 bucks.
Im going to sell my truck and get an old silverado. Like early 80's. I love those trucks. I have an audi to drive every day now, so the gas mileage of an old truck every two weeks wont hurt me.

Good luck at PSI man! I cant wait to get my car down to the dyno. Theres a mustang one here in my town.

PSI has a mustang dyno also. I found the 9in on here the guy wants 1500 4 it maybe I will just save 4 a 12blt you can never have 2 much power. I was at the Philly auto show checking out the new zr1 drool... looking at that stuff makes me feel poor lol

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

Just to put my experience out there.

the only time I've ever dealt with PSI, they acted cool about getting my brother's car on the dyno... then when we got there, they acted like we were wasteing their time because it wasn't an LS1 motor. They did like 3 runs and kinda just quit, stopped, gave up. They only made my brother pay like $100 out of the 3-400 they said it would cost. All said and done, the car never got tuned, and they never returned our calls untill we had to go elsewhere to get the job done 3 months later. I wonder if its because they really only know how to tune LS1's. I've talked to and delt with the people at F-Body Central, where the guy from PSI Learned everything he knows, I prefer to deal with them now. Unless something has changed in the past year... PSI was a bunch of novices just hanging out. Jason and F-body central were really good to us. I recommend Brett for a Dyno tune.

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

I had A/C with two t3 turbos, but wanted to make room for bigger (t3/t4) turbos. I've since relocated the wastegates to fit A/C again, but never put the evaporator and condensor back in. When it starts getting hot out, I'll find motivation to get it back on.

I would almost recommend finding a pair of turbos and fabricating up your own kit, That would be alot cheaper. I have over 8000 in this setup and that does not include the cost of the motor, fuel management, or the fuel system.

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

Yea, I wouldnt mind having another camaro. One that would be a good daily driver. A cammed, cleaned up (500hp?) lsx with a t56 would be fun. Would still get good gas mileage.
Too many other things going on right now though, gotta finish up my camaro, finish my DD audi, sell the DD crew s10, finish the v8 s10 and sell that, and get/build a lifted Tahoe to tow my junk around, sell the dirtbike, buy a streetbike, whew! I also need more garages....and winter time needs to go away!!!!!

I've been running my setup for 4 yrs now at around 600rwhp. And i have a stock crank, 2bolt block, and cheap GM connecting rods. Good Luck

Thanks man, I still have the gm high tech issue with your car in it. That article was part of my inspiration to go turbo. I will keep you guys updated with horsepower numbers and I will also post videos when its done.. hopefully a few more weeks...

The dyno shop is installing the xfi, its actually speed density so theres no need for a mass air flow sensor I do have a 3 bar map though.

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

guys,

I'm really disappointed. The car only made 320 horse power and 380 ftlbs of torque on 5lbs of boost at 4500 rpms after 4500 it falls on its face. I think it might have the wrong cam in it but idk the fuel pressure is right on and the tune is good, im using the tpis mini ram so it should pull to at least 6500 I dont know where to begin does anyone think it could be timing? any help is much appreciated thanks, John

^ Agreed, we need to see some data-logging. You've invested a lot of time and money into this build, so don't start contemplating on everyone's speculation, because that's all your going to get w/out the much needed supporting data....

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

I will try to get the data logs asap from Frank at psi. He thinks its something to do with the cam and valvespings but idk. were going to do a leak down and comperssion test on it tomorrow I know the cam has a 114 lobe seperation but Ive been trying to call the guy that built my motor. His name is Jason and the name of his company is wohlford motorsports and he does not return my phone calls so I cant get exact specs till I talk to him I think I got scammed! Im so frusterated!

I also cant understand why It drops off at 4500rpms It has a 1206 miniram on it with a 58mm tb its not a stock tpi

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

Even a real small cam should pull higher than that on boost. My first thought would be valvesprings...

Did you run the motor before the turbos?

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

The guy who built it said he broke it in on an engine dyno but who knows. I ran it at idle but with the #60 injectors on the stock ecm it ran like crap, so I only had it idling a few times till the bigstuff 3 was installed. I cant understand it the engine runs beautifully when it idles no shakes or misses at all, it does crank hard sometimes when its up to operating temp so im wondering if the timing is off...? also I forgot to mention on the first dyno pull were heard a tapping noise here to find out all the rocker arms were loose but we adjusted them and it still made the same horsepower #'s

Don't get frustrated just yet, this usually makes people overlook the most simplest of things. The data-logs are imperative, so be sure to provide us with a copy when you can. If you suspect foul play with the engine rebuild, then you just might be experiencing blow by, so be sure to run that leak down test first chance you get. Check the obvious too, check for vacuum and/or boost leaks. As far as having something to do with the cam, your now going to have to (since you don't trust your engine builder) check to see if the cam was lined up properly. But again, way too many variables, get those logs as soon as you can, with them, we can pinpoint exactly what's going on....

That (the timing) honestly should have been checked before the dyno run. What is it set at?

He did set the timing b4 we made any dyno pulls. I dont know what it was set at though.
I appreciate your help guys I will post up the data logs tomorrow as soon as I get them. thanks, John

That's a no no, you need the details, especially running twin turbo's. Run the leak down test, then once that's squared away, and you've eliminated the possibility of any boost/vacuum leaks, get those data-logs....

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

He probably locked the timing out, which means at idle its very advanced. Nothing wrong with this, but when the motor is hot, its hard to turn over. What most guys do, is start turning the car over with the ignition off, and then turn the ignition on once the engine is spinning well.

There's also fancy retard equipment you can buy.

If you werent so far away, I'd say come down here and I'd look at it...

The timing is locked out I just thought with 8-1 compression it would crank easy

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

i doubt valve springs would be that cause at only 4500... i have ran stock springs to 6200 with the XR270 multiple times no real loss of valve control

do you have a compressor map for those turbos?

and where are you getting your pressure reading from?

Re: check out my new power adder!!!!

96 A/R I am not exactly sure of the exact specs its been a while but its the 800 horse power gale banks twin turbo kit so I dont think the the turbos would be a problem but idk. Its the 4500 thing that bothers me why wont it rev higher then that he tried taking it to 5000 and it didnt pull after 4500 so theres something wrong there it should pull higher then that N/A

Youre right that is pretty low for valvesprings. What about ignition?

Wait a second, your not even able to pull past 4500-RPM? I thought you were implying that power dropped severely above 4500-RPM, but you really meant that it's somehow locked at 4500-RPM....?

yes thats it something like that it just does not want to rev past 4500 its like it struggles to get to 5000
