142 on gm performance 330 ho

I'm new at knowing dry roots blower basics, so don't be to rough on me. As you read by my title I have 9.1 vortec engine with the 435-460 lift cam. I don't want to switch to hyd cam for better breathing and better springs and lifters for stability. Using my exsisting confiqurration how many pounds of boost can my engine safely handle? I've read 5 pounds will take compression up to 12to 1. Would I need a boost retard ignition?

What?!? I'm lost.

I believe you already have a hydraulic cam. Clarify what you mean by your cam statement.

You have what, 9:1 CR? You can do 5psi of boost on a roots blower without too much hassle, especially if you cam it up a bit. Boost retard on your ignition is a very good idea.

I meant to say I didn't want to switch to hydraulic roller cam. Sorry for the confusion. As the valvetrain is, will it hold up to 5 pounds boost.

Boost has very little effect on valvetrain. You'd need upwards of 20psi of boost before you'd even need to consider upgrading valve springs to fight the boost pressure.
