I have a 1989 Camaro with a 305 TBI. Apparently its a slow camaro according to haters at school. I don't think its slow... its perfect for my first if you ask me. But I really want to prove to everyone that camaros are awesome cars but I have no idea what I should do to it, Any ideas for a low budget, seeing that I' am not loaded with cash.

 

To improve acceleration, swap your 2.73/3.08 to 3.42/3.73 rear end. It's a great first, cheap mod that you will feel.

 

AND add some spray. Nothing crazy, like a 75 shot would do it.

i have a 88 camaro 305. what im going to do next after i get my rebuilt tranny in is change the gears. the stock gears are usually 2.73 if im not mistakin. but im thinking about puttin in 3.73's or 4.11's i think the 4.11's will be to much for my use. i drive my car everyday so the 3.73's will be a lil better on gas but not much. and really 4.11's and 3.73's are not that different. but yes. if i were you dooo that. but you are a little low on money.. maybe save up for that.. if you want somethin to gain a little then mayybe a k&n air filter oor put primium gas in. that helps a lil.. but gears is a def improvment

 

If the car has a t-5 tranny go with 4.10 gears. When I bought my 91 camaro it was a 305 TBI (LO3) with a t-5 tranny. 4.10 gears woke that dog up. If it's a 700r4 go with 3.73. But gears would be my first mod. You'll think you have a new car. Good luck.
