Precision PT88 turbo

Hi everybody, can anybody tell me if a Precision PT88 turbo will fit into my 1991 Z-28 Camaro using a single turbo BBS header? I don't know if using a serpentine belt system or a traditional V-belt system makes a difference. I've deleted the A/C system and the air pump and may also relocate the battery. I do know for sure that a Turbonetics T-76 will fit and the Precision PT88 has a compressor housing of .75 A/R and the turbine is .96 A/R, so I'm assuming the Precision will fit. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Precision PT88 turbo

ive heard the biggest you ca fit on that header (the one that fits the t-76) will accept is a .70 a/r on the compressor side. however.... a .75 should fit fine. You could dent the valve cover a bit.

If you are looking to run a 88mm turbo you will need a different manifold. The bbs one is to restrictive exhaust wise to move the amount of air that turbo makes.

Re: Precision PT88 turbo

an 88mm turbo is an expensive buildup for sure. Custom headers are the least of your worries.

look at the GM section and read the first 10 pages of threads, that'll help your understanding just a bit. You do realize that this would be a 7k setup at least?

Re: Precision PT88 turbo

Or just do custom headers with a S400 turbo. Those turbos go for like 600-800 bucks new.

Re: Precision PT88 turbo

Any suggestions or recommendations on who can fabricate custom headers and exhaust for this size of turbo in our type of cars? I'm not sure if the S400 would fit or not. There seems to be a lot of praise for B&G Turbo. Please explain to me what problems do I expect to encounter with building my turbo setup. The motor is a 406 sbc, afr 195 heads, miniram setup with 8.5 compression. I still have to figure out the computer tuning. Thanks to all for replying.
