Supercharger differences

Can someone explain the differences between the Holley/Weiand 142 and 144 systems??

I have looked directly at the Holley/Weiand sites but got no real answer to what the distinction is between the two.

I have wanted to get a Procharger for the longest time, but a friend suggested I go with a Roots type blower instead of the Centrifugal, so I started exploring these options. For the price it looks pretty good compared to the Prochargers.

Suggestions or tips from anyone?

Re: Supercharger differences

The difference is that the 144 has teflon strips on the rotor tips which seal better allowing for the extra 2 cubic inches of flow.
The 174 would be a better choice--ya know--no replacement for displacement---that applies to blowers too. the differecne between the two is worth WAY more than the $300 price difference. I have been looking at putting a 250 on for a while now or a whipple screwcharger
