Turbo cam selection.

Ok I've got a 350 lt1 going to be stroked to 383. want to run mild boost out of a T-70 or so size turbo. prolly 10lbs or maybe less.just wanting to run 500-600hp.prolly gonna have 8.5-9cpr.This car is a daily driver for fun times. I dont want a massive cam or a cam that will starve my turbo down. Does anyone know of some good cams for this application?or some good literature or sites.ive searchd this site and no one really shows specs for a daily driver 383 single turbo.any help or links is appreciated.

Re: Turbo cam selection.

You don't need a huge cam for that. Singe vs double shouldn't mean much on selecting the cam, since the air is all the same. If you want decent street manners, something around 230-236ish int/exh with a 114 LS should be fine. Automatics are more forgiving down low for a wilder cam, while a manual tranny won't hide a cam that's too large with the torque converter. Depending on the exhaust restriction (turbine specs, downtubes, mufflers), you might want to consider either the same int/exh duration, or more intake duration to cope w/ the backpressure. Old tech, but read David Vizard's book on chevy valvetrains & choosing cams...
