Ok.....looking to run nitrous on my 385 HSR. 100-125 shot max. Most likely 100 shot though. I was looking around and I am finding LT1 kits cheap on ebay. I found one that says it is activated by a microswitch....call me stupid but what ways can nitrous be activated and what are the differences? Can the LT1 nitrous kit fit on my HSR without having to customize crap too much?

 

Nitrous is most often triggered by:

1. A microswitch on either the throttle linkage or pedal guarded with an arming switch.
2. A push button (fast and furious style. no point, why push another button?)
3. A nitrous controller box. These are available from brands such as NOS and Edelbrock.

On a whole I would say that most guys out there are running microswitches.

As for the LT1 fitment, not sure.

 

Push button doesnt seem pointless to me...then again im the newb.... .....what ab LT1 nitrous setup on my car though?

 

When I first setup nitrous on my car I ran a micro switch and it started spraying nitrous as soon as I hit wide open throttle. Recently I've installed a dual stage progressive controller. Kinda pricy but it works great. Once my car launches on wide open throttle, it starts off at 50% nitrous flow 1.5 seconds into the run, ramps up to full flow at 3 seconds, then stage one shuts off at 1/8 mile and stage two instantly turns at the same time.
