Hello everyone, I am new here and am starting a rebuild project on my dad's old 86 Trans Am. It has a 305 and needs to be rebuilt badly. I have been looking for a supercharger for it and have not had any luck. I can only find them for 88s. Can someone help me with finding one or inform on the modifications needed for installing an 88 model on my 86? No rush on finding one. I am still about a year away from needing it, but I can start on the modifications this summer. Thanks ahead of time, Tnalbundy.

 

Need to convert the car to a serpentine belt setup first, unless you find an old Paxton kit but I wouldnt go that route.
The AC and alternator have to swap sides, so you'll lose any R-12 you might have (if it has AC anyway) and the wiring for the alt is pretty simple. Once you do that, you can use any of the later kits you want.

 

the problem your gonna run into is that 86 cars have 3 v-belt setup as where the 88 have a serpetine drive belt thats the thing nobody make kits for v-belt anymore or atleast i dont think they do u can do a serpetime swap they should have a sticky thread here somewhere about that wow mad beat me to it i posted and his was already there lol

 

Thanks a bunch guys!!!!! I am going to pull the engine and transmission this summer, so swapping the wiring and a/c shouldn't be too hard. Since I am going to tear the engine down to the block, swapping for a serpentine assembly shouldn't be that bad either. Anybody care to come and help? LOL Just kidding. I will post some pics before I start, so you can where I started and where I end up. I hope you guys don't mind me asking a lot of questions. I am sure that I will have plenty.
