Power Adding
I am trying to add horsepower to my car but am on a tight budget ($1000). What can i do to add more? It is the origional 5.7 350. I also I am looking for things that I can remove easily and put the stock part back on when I decide to sell it so it can be all origional.

Re: Power Adding
For a 1k budget you could do full exhaust and a TB then port your own tpi.
For a true power adder you can't do a roots or centri blower for under 1k, let alone a turbo. A $1000 will get you a nice nitrous kit with all the accessories, and you can un do it all back to stock with ease. Search around you'll make the right choice that fits what you want

Re: Power Adding
What is the best exhaust system I can get like what are the best headers? And by best exhaust and headers Im looking for power more than anything not so much sound. Also how about performance chips? Are they as easy as they sound to install and do they actually put out as much power as they say? If so which is the best to get? I am also looking at getting bigger injectors what size should I get and how much do they cost?

Re: Power Adding
For under a grand I would say nitrous also. I don't think you can get any good engine mods going on for that little especially if you want to go back to stock easily.
Doing injectors is kind of pointless unless you are going to increase airflow in and out. You don't need more fuel if you don't have more air. IE big mouth runners($339) and baseplate($409), good aftermarket 52 mm throttle body($250-350), airbox mods(free), Long tube headers($200) and full exhaust system.
Getting a chip for your car usually does little to nothing for you unless it is tuned by an expert for your exact setup. And it will take 2 or three to get it right. There's not much point to a one size fits all chip seeing as that is what the car comes with.
The cheapest way to get quicker is rear end gears, nitrous, good tires, and a shift kit. There are very few states left that allow you to run nitrous on the street however. For most folks who only drag race at the track this isn't a problem.

Re: Power Adding
The layout of the airbox on the camaros isnt a ram setup. It pulls air from the area behind the fascia. I cut the bottom of the air box out below the filters to remove the baffolding they put in there to cut down on intake noise. Its a common mod. Some folks buy the kit and rig it up so that the air filter box pulls air from the grille. That one is ram air.

Re: Power Adding
Go no higher then 3.42/3.45 gears...
Toss some drag radials on the stock rims, and buy an NX nitrous kit...
jet it to 150, and have fun..
theres obviously more to it then that, but not much, if nitrous is a route you may wanna take, post that, and ill go into more detail.

Re: Power Adding

4.10's are getting into the extreme range for a street car.

Re: Power Adding
Okay how about this, what is the best supercharger/turbo I can buy for the money. I dont want one of those top of engine superchargers but one of those ones that mounts off to the side like a turbo system.
