Re: turbo calculater an picking the right turbo :

What kind of power are you looking for, and are you looking to run a stock or built engine? Those two things will determine the turbo you want ultimately. The other thing that's critical is converter. If you have a looser converter it tends to mask an "oversized" turbo somewhat.

As an extreme on the small side, I'm considering tossing an H1C/HX40 hybrid with a 16 CM^2 on my TPI. It's a 58mm compressor, but there have been a few people with 5.0 Mustangs making over 400 to the wheels with them at low to moderate boost levels, not to mention that the RPM it comes up should be super low which will work very well with my 4L80E's stock converter. I suspect I'd be giving a Cummins or Powerstroke a run for their money honestly. For a stone stock 305 a 60-1 is NOT a bad choice overall.

If you have an L03 I would consider valve springs a requirement, and would strongly advocate getting a cam for that as well. The more HP you make N/A the better your turbo will do, and the more turbo you can both install and effectively use. Even a basic LT1 cam with some good springs will likely make that into another beast entirely when turboed.

That being said, a basic MP 70 will tap 9s in a fox body, so any choice you make should do well provided you've got everything around it optimized.
