Weiand 8-71 Marine vs Street?

What is the difference between the Weiand 8-71 Marine supercharger and 8-71 street supercharger?
Part numbers are 7186P and 7189P respectively.

Will the marine (7189) one bolt onto a car 454 with car accessories? I have a chance to get one for a fair price with carbs and fuel lines.

The marine systems have a stronger belt system setup, I believe an 8mm two piece billet snout, but the accessory bracketry with these marine applications would need modification for a street setup...

I kind of figured all that with the addition of reading something about a milled thermostat housing or it's off-set. My only accessories are the water pump and alternator... all weiand kits use a short style water pump so that only leaves me with worrying about my alternator (maybe a good time to just use a marine bracket?). My car has no a/c or power steering.

If it's more durable and completely compatible it's probably worth me buying. Are marine carbs good for passenger vehicles? (I imagine they meet and exceed anything a vehicle has). I can pick up the complete setup for 4 grand with carbs, fuel lines, throttle linkage, intake, pulleys and belt.

Nah, not for the street, marine carbs are more wide open throttle oriented, and not as good transient during part throttle street driving, unless your building it strictly for drag racing. I would stick with an auto carb for your setup, especially for the street...

I guess it's not worth buying then. The carbs was the deal breaker for me. $4,000 and needing to buy carbs sets me back more than a 8-71 street kit with carbs would.

It i still worth buying, You can sell the marine grade carbs And just buy new blower carbs for street use. Marine carbs cost more than carbs for an automobile,
