Wide band O2 sensor placement
Hi
I just purchased an innovate mtx wideband afr meter. I am going to use this to help provide feedback to tuned performance who is preparing a chip. For me.
I would like to position the sensor in cat area (which has been removed) so I can install or remove as required. Once I have the afr set I would like to remove the wideband and only use as diagnostic tool as required.
Is there any issues with mounting the o2 sensor in this area (ie not hot enough...)- . I want to weld the bung in the right location
I am installing dyno don short tube headers and narrow band o2 for ecm control is going into collector pipe
Any help is appreciated

Re: Wide band O2 sensor placement
Wideband gets hot on its' own, and if your not running a turbo then place the wideband in the stock location (or wherever Dyno Don puts the bung), get your data, then remove it and put the narrowband in. The only time you have to worry about wideband placement is if you have excessive EGT's, and in the case of turbo's, they can reach over 1500 degrees, and it is then you'd want to place the wideband three feet from the turbo. No turbo, then no worries...

Thanks for the quick reply
I am runninng a paxton sn2000 on my 5.0 tpi. For ease of install removal will the cat location work?
