Finished the drivers side turbo header
Have a look see!
It clears the steering column, has lots of plug and plug wire clearance, and also lifts out from the top. I have to do some tweeking on making the pipes match at some of the joints, but overall its not bad. I should be able to have it %100 prepped for TIG this week sometime.
Ill start on the passenger side next week when my next batch of tubing arrives.

Looks good! I've been watching the board and reading a lot of your posts lately. Just trying to get some good info on what it'd take for a turbo upgrade.
I was wondering why you've got the #1 exhaust tube turned up so high? It would seem easier to just bend it down into the collector. They don't appear to be "equal length". I'm guessing that isn't so important on a turbo car, but then again I really don't have any idea if that's important or not! Or if they really are equal length at that.
Keep the good stuff comming, I'm learning a lot more than I'd expected.
Thanks,

It would have been nice to turn it down but it wouldnt make the sharp radius I needed with the bends i have available to turn it down so I turned it up.
Looks good Guido. How are you gonna tack weld everything together with all the tape over the joints? Not trying to be smart
Won't everything move when you remove the tape from the joints, or did you keep the actual seam untaped?
Steve

I put a mark at every joint so I know how the pieces assemble. Im in the process now of going back and tacking all the joints and it is going together pretty smoothly.

Well you wondered how it would look welded. Here it is tacked up.
The front tube needs some massaging to merge into the collector but get that one sunk and I will be ready to TIG.

How the heck are you going to weld the two stubs between #3 & #5? did you buy the flange that had the stubs sticking out of it & then build on that? I thought that would be the best way to get a flange that is less likely to leak.
