Hey guys,

So I'm thinking of buying the Nos 5151 kit and running a 150 shot on my current engine. I have an MSD box to retard the timing. I have a wide-band..etc

But here's the thing, the engine n/a makes more than enough power for me. The nitrous will be used as a "just in case" type deal. I mean, I'll be lucky if I spray the engine once a year if that. So my question is, will colder plugs hurt n/a performance? Seeing as how my tune is completely dialed in right now, and will be n/a 99% of the time.

What heat range is in it now? Typically 6 heat range ngk scale works for heads cam pump gas motors. Small shot i'd run a 7. It wont hurt street performance off the sauce. Just keep an eye on them to make sure they dont foul, which they shouldnt. If tune is on they will work fine

I run 8's in my boost motor, i drive around alot and tune is a touch rich so the plugs fouled somewhat often, i'd just clean em off and replace them once or twice a season.

Thanks for the reply. AFR told me to start with Autolite 3922. They're listed as heat range D11. Which doesn't seem to make sense. I also read the last number is the heat range. Which would be 2. Guess I got some more research to do.

 

Those seem to cross reference to ngk 7 heat. That should be good

autolite number go down in heat lower means colder NGK goes the other way up means colder
