mod suggestions on my 350 camaro
I have an 85 camaro Z28, with a rebuilt 350 in it. I put a comp cams 268H extreme energy cam in it good up to 5800 rpms, magnum roller tip rockers, headers, holly 650 carb with a 1/2 in spacer under it, and a holly dominator intake manifold. It has a stock T5, and stock rear. I am having traction problems, and am thinking about gettin the BFG drag radial tires. Any suggestions for more mods, i'm planning to take it to the track this spring.

chevy high performance did a series in which they bult a motor up from the 350 goodwrench they threw away the stock heads and some other things. In its final chapter it was fitted with those $850 trick flow heads (now $895) and a little roots blower and made a heap of power. my favorite incarnation during the build up was the (i think second to the last in the series) it had the same cam you have and some of the L31 "vortec" truck heads that have become so popular (they are cheap aroun 400 a pair and flow like racers) if memory serves me correctly (please dont spank me for this) it made around 400 HP and over 400 ft lbs torque on a good portion of the dyno run. I liked it because it was $ the majority of go fasters could afford (until the trickflow and blower issue) If you decide to go with the vortecs get the ones with the better springs (upgraded) so you wont coil bind and remember to buy a dedicated intake manifold for those heads (different pattern). dont be talked into getting the heads that are modified for a normal intake or getting a normal intake modified to fit those heads because the port alignment is horrible if you dont get the correct intake.
