will the ports on an LT-1 intake line up the Vortec intake ports? or is an LT-1 port the same as a "standard" sbc intake port location? I know a TPI intake won't work hence SD's vortec intake but what about the LT-1? thanks, Bob

 

Heres what i think and how you can find out , go down to your local chevy dealer and have em bring up the gaskets for a vortec motor, and the gaskets for the LT1 (no dash) LT-1 - reg sbc, if the ports line up then you're ok, i doubt they will, if not have them try the LT4 gaskets from a 96 vette, i'll bet they are what you need, then buy the appropriate intake.

 

Their is a lot of info on this in the tpi board but to answer your ? no the ports on the lt1 are .2 smaller then the vortec the lt4 is closer at .1 smaler but the lt4 can be port mached to the vortec gaskets.I started do do this convertion but had a melt down with the wiring harness and now I have to use my extral cash to fix that instead.
