Turbo Experts...Non-Thirdgen...Homemade boost controller??
Well, I started driving my winter car - 1989 Dodge Daytona 2.5L Turbo 5-speed. This guy at my work had a turbo Talon, and he made a homemade boost controller using plumbing parts from Ace Hardware. He said he would make one for mine, but he went off to college and I don't have his number. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find a tech article or something so I can do this myself. I'm not sure what it consists of, but I'm pretty sure you hook it up to the wastegate so that you can achieve a higher pressure than stock. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It basically consists of two barbed pipe fittings screwed together. Inside of this assmelby, you place a spring and a ball bearing. You can tailer it to what boost reference you want your wastegate to read by turning the amount of space the spring can move in.
If you go to www.google.com and do a search for manual boost controllers, there are plenty of DIY tech article out there on how its been done.
Good luck.

the ones I've seen look exactly like this but without the water separator and gauge. It is an regular air regulator and ive even seen them routed to the drivers compartment for adjustment on the go while looking at the boost gauge for exact settings. For scale perposes that is 3/8" hose barbed on this one but you can get like some 7/32" hose barbs to fit it and use it with re-enforced vacuum/emmisions hose.

Goto this site. TONS of great info.
Turbo info!
Your looking for a Grainger valve

There is the problem with the computer cutting out with overboost. The site deals with that also.
