tpi or carb?? i have a roots for trade mabey
I have a 355 with a roots style blower on top that i have just bought with about 10,000 miles on them. i am swaping it into a 1986 tpi trans am and i needed help with my decision. I want carbs for the ease of tuning and to work on the car but i dont want to put a 4" cowl hood on my car. So i thought retaining my existing fuel injection (upgrading it of course) and trying to trade someone for a vortech that is made for our cars. so if you have any input as to which way you think would be for me to go please feel free to respond. and if i think i want to retain the fuel inj.
i have the blower with a 750cfm cromed out holley carb and a holley blue fuel pump i can include in the trade if you want to work out a deal. here is a pic

Can you get away with inspection down there with that? If so I would keep it. Cut out the hood for it. It would be mean looking.
yes and no.
I am sure i can get it to pass the sniffer test but the visual test it will fail miserably since it is a fuel injected vehicle.
. Which is part of the reason i dont really want to put a huge cowl on top of the hood = ). But i have someone who can hook me up with a sticker. it is a 1986 trans am with tpi.

Yeah that's basically what I meant. If you could get a sticker without the hassle it would be great.

keep it and just add efi to it. BDS makes a nice little setup for EFI and roots blowers.
a buddy has a 65 stang with a BDS blower. he had 2 carbs on top of it. Then swaped to EFI
Ill find some pictures of it.
