Quieting a Vortech S-trim

Thinking about taking off the Vortech S-trim kit off my '92 TA Convertible. If I feel like some more spirited driving I have a C5 with an A&A kit. Never did get the TA tuned right with the stock ECM and really don't have time to figure it out in 25 years. It's mostly the noise that I'd like to get rid of. Seems like $2200 would be the upgrade cost to a V2 and I can't justify. Did I see that it's possible to do a third-party impeller? Would that be quieter?

I also assume there's no harm in driving without the belt other than my WOT fuel map being too rich just to see what I'd be missing.

Re: Quieting a Vortech S-trim

you need the v2. might be able to sell your v1 and buy a v2 or trade for one? alot of the noise is in the gearbox, which is the main difference between v1 and v2 if i remember correctly.
you could disconnect the belt and unhook the charge pipe to run it n/a i would imagine.... but if you have a maf, then that would need to be in the loop.
