NOS on 305 Questions

hey guys i bought a used 88 305 LB9 motor a while back it had nos on it and i dont know what jets they were using, the motor had 68k miles on it, i recently had the motor rebuilt, it had a few slightly bent rods in it a spun rod bearing and 2 cracked oil rings and the cylinders were worn pretty good, what would cause that at 68k miles? i had it rebuilt because of the burning oil in 2 cylinders, question is, would it be safe to use 100hp shot on it without damage like that ? and at least go 80k?

i'm using stock cast pistons, stock crank turned .10

Somethin' wasn't right with that system. If I remember right, that kind of damage is the result of pre-ignition, like whoever was running it didn't retard the timing when they were juicing the motor. If your rebuilding with stock cast pistons, go easy on the squeeze, like no more than 100 or 125 max.
