nitrous ?
what is the highest horsepower shot i can run on my freshly rebuilt LG4 (carbureted 305) without forged internals? engine mods are going to be flat top pistons, new 650cfm carb, edelbrock RPM performer intake, and headers. i just wanna know how much horsepower i can run constantly without blowing my engine...my guess is 100?

If your fuel and ignition systems are in good working order you can spay a 100HP-125HP shot on it. Thats about as high as I would go. You should be safe with that kind of shot.

N.O.S recommends that a maximum of a 30% engine output shot is safe.So if you have 300hp, they say a 100hp shot would the highest you can safely go.That's their recommendation, you do what ever you are comfortable with.On that motor with 125hp shot I know I would have my eyes closed and fingers crossed when I threw the switch.Just some food for thought.
actually, l got away with spraying 150 HP shot of frost on my 90 305, bone stock internally, ignition, and fuel-wise. it had 71,000 when l started, I quit at 73,000-about 20-25 bottles later. sold it and it now has 74,000 and runs as strong as the day it rolled off the assembly line
