and i want the one that will give me the best bang for my buck. any help guys.
and i want the one that will give me the best bang for my buck. any help guys. NOS will, by far, give you the best BANG. It just may not be the "bang" you are looking for. NOS is great when installed corectly and will give you the best time improvement for your money. The draw backs are that it itn't "all the time". The benifits are it isn't "all the time." So, it all depends on how you look at it.
Two thins when you're intalling NOS.
FUEL FUEL FUEL!!!
NOS is only the catalyst to burn extra fuel, increas oxygen, and give you more "output". NOS alone will only screw things up.
2nd, TIMING
Forged isn't necessary unless you pumping more than 150 shot into that 406. Good rule of thumb is to retard timing by 1 degree per 50shot, 2 if you want to be really safe. An MSD adjustable timing module is a great extra when installing NOS. You just dial in your retard while "squeezing" and take advatage of a little advance when you're not.
I read an article last summer about a third gen that had been running a 150 shot on his stock 350 for somehting like 5-10 years. He was using a dual prom set up that would switch to a nos chip when the system was ingaged... very trick!
NOS is fun. I love to get even with someone and just watch there jaw drop in my rear view when I hit it.
You'll feel the most dramatic difference while your still stock. It won't have as much of an affect on a well modded car. So I say take advatage of useing NOS now, and upgrade heads later
