which manifold to use

Whats going on everybody...long time no type....anyway i have a question. I am in the process of re-building my motor to accomodate a 9psi Vortech supercharger. Now i already have a camshaft (lingenfelter #74220) and I have also purchased a set of AFR heads (got a good deal on a slightly used pair). Now the bottom end is buttoned up, but now I am curious which manifold should I go with??..I have been told that the Superam will give me gobs of torque, and will push my motor to about 6300rpms..but with a Mini-ram i was told that my motor would blast past 7000rpm...and give like 80+hp??....but I also have to spend 600 bux for the level 6 chip. is it worth it??..thanks in advance for your help.

You don't need to run TPIS chip but you will need a custom prom. I like the MR b/c its easier to work on. I'm going w/ an LT1 b/c I don't have the money for a 6spd and a MR.

If you have a 3rd gen with a MAF then it will take care of the drivability and some tuning with the FMU will take care of everything else. I have built cars with monster horse power, without computer mods, every thing from impy ss's, 3rd gens, vettes, and stangs but they were all MAF. one guy swore he could make me a bunch more power with a custom program and when he came to the dyno to prove it he couldn't. I am now embarking on a similar experiment with a speed density 3rd gen car. wish me luck.

I was under the impression that the Mini Ram and the Super Ram had basically the same power advantages.........BUT if I could do it over again I would have went with the Mini Ram due to the ease factor............the Super Ram is a big pain in the Ying Yang..........and that's no joke........I would go with the Mini Ram. Just my opinion.

I agree enough that I may put the superram on the streetcar and get a miniram or something similar to this for my race project.
