Is it worth it to drop the tank to avoid the noise that comes w/ an in-line fuel pump?

I heard there was a tech article that showed you how to cut a hole in your car above the gas tank and do it from there.

Anyone got a link to this page? Thanks.

Are you running a supercharger? If so, I hooked up an inline fuel pump. I hooked up my inline fule pump to a 30 amp relay and grounded it to my hobbs switch, and then, I put a bypass around hte fuel pump with a oneway check valve. When I am in boost the aux. fuel pump activates, when I am not in boost, the pump is off going around the fuel pump. So, you can not heare the pump working because it is rarely on and when it is on all you hear are the rpm's.

Well I can comment on it as Ive ridden in cars with both.....The in line fuel pumps make noise...If on all the time you hear it all the time....Then if you are running ONLY the external pump then you really should have a sumped tank....

I JUST finished mine...When I switched to the vortech blower I needed a bigger pump....They give me a ******* *** cheezy looking external walbro pump that im supposed to splice in the rubber part of the fuel line....Sounds like crap looks like crap and pretty much is crap...Will it work ...YES....Does it look ghetto YES... I bought a completely PLUG in PUMP setup through walbro.....This had a conversion harness and the whole shooting match....It was high volume and hgh pressure.....It works great and Makes no noise and when I open my hood you dont see Wire ties Screqw clamps and assed up brackets holding the miracle together...

OK Not that you can tell my real feelings BUT.....The install was a pita...I HAVE a LIFT and it still was a pita...I broke my gas tank filler tube and had to have it welded....But all said and done Im glad I spent the day doing it right...

Now finally NO IM not capping oon external fuel pumps...One day Ill have the need for one but the way I see it why have the noise and hassles unless you need it....
