picture compression

i would like to post my pics of 87 LT but am imaging ignorant. my pics are over the 180000bytes allowable. if anyone can let me know how to compress them I would appreciate the help. I am very impressed with the site and am in the process of restoring my 'maro and can definately use the site for refferencing...thanx

What picture program are you using? You should look for something that says resizeing or something simialar.

Download Paint Shop Pro for free.

Take your image, load it in this program, and resize your pictures.

Save the file as a .jpg the built-in jpg compression in this program is great, better than just about nay other program ive tried (except photoshop, but that's what, 500 bucks?)

i take my .jpg file and then just bring it up in microsoft photo editor and it makes the same file alot smaller..

thanx for the help guys...christos, the paint pro 7 worked great...thanks alot!!!! i got my profile up & going...now it is time for some interior work, got alot of great ideas from boards already. :rockon:
