I'm with you too zz28. Theres a few people that need to be put on probation for what they said and accused you of being when your not. As for cutting a hole in the sheet metal. It's not moronic to ask or to do. As long as weld in some supports under the metal and weld them into strong points under the car it wouldnt affect it. I'm consedering on doing some modifications to my next camaro and thats one of them I plan to do. Why not make changing a fuel pump in under 30 minutes? And not take 3 to 4 hours or more "thats how long it took me on my first time" As long as your are properly bracing up the area around the underside of the hole. Probally making it like the cage for a NASCAR fuel cell. Hey does anyone have a pic of the undercarrige with the fuel tank taken out? I have an idea and want to do some engineering and fab work.

wow thats bad man.....

that really is not a bad idea....especially if you plan to maybe do alot of work on your tank. but not just cut a hole....make a door that latches and seals securely.

ive seen it done before and its alot easier to swap out your fuel pump if it goes bad. im all for it
