FAQ Building Board?
Today I was moving a thread, and on the list of forums to move it to, I noticed the "FAQ Building Board".
Where did this come from? I don't see it on the list of boards, or the Forum Jump bar at the bottom.

It was a board we had way back that didn't get enabled again.

I am actually considering bringing it back as a board with locked frequently asked posts so that all that mess isn't on the individual boards when you click into them. It would also be a little easier for quick reference even if you might have to search after a while.
I'd like to hear what people think 1st though.

Kinda like the newbie board idea??? I think that it would be a great Idea to have a board for all of the frequently asked questions but i dont think it would stop members from postingthose questions anyway...but good Idea no the less.

I think it's a good idea... Maybe then we wouldn't have people post about soemthing that gets asked every week, not that I don't mind helping them out, but saves us typing and server space.

FAQ boards are extremely useful even if they're simply collections of threads pertaining to certain frequently asked questions such as this board It's more welcoming to new members of our community to have a board such as this instead of being told "DO A SEARCH!!!!" when they ask what induction setup they have or how to figure out their gear ratio/options etc

I think its a good idea to bring it back. Is there any way to divide it up into different topics to match the forums? That way if someone wants to know if fourth gen seats fit, they don't have to look through all the posts they can just go to the Interior FAQ section?
Wishful thinking
i think people, more so newbies, find it easier for them to jump on a forum, post a question within a few seconds, and then come back later and have the answer right in front of them, rather than spending minutes trying to find the answer themselves.
Plus, on the user's side, information is subject to change and many people rather have an updated questioned answered in a post, rather to take a chance on a Faq that may be outdated or in question.
i've been in a car club on the website side for many years.
i am not saying the FAQ wouldn't help, or is a bad idea.

Yes it is a very good idea....but then again, you would still get those people that still ask those repetitive questions and you would still have others telling them to go to the 'FAQ board' instaed of doing a search.
I still think it's a good idea though just to free up the locked threads on all of the boards. Inwo posted a link above and i like how that is setup...just a board with threads with different topics which contain certain FAQ's.

the thing i've noticed is that people always say "do a search" then they bitch when a newbie digs up a thread that is three years old.
as nice as an faq board would be..... do we know for sure anyone would use it?

There will be a FAQ Board soon.
We'll see how it goes.
