Upgrade!
Dear ***, it's about time you upgrade from vb 2.x to 3.5 and introduce these people to AJAX. Do you realize how much you would speed up this forum.

I totally agree, it's been soooo long since a forum software upgrade. Is it ever going to happen?

That bad part is there are about 15 security issues id'd in vbulletin that can be taken advantage of.
I know them quite well being a vb developer. It wouldn't take much to shut down the foruma nd exploit it.
Now this hasn't happened yet, but what if someone tried?
Upgrading the software is a priority. And the excuse that the forum is to big is BS, becuase we ahve already seen larger busier sites upgrade.

And an upgrade is not required on all security issues. Having my own experience with vB, some were simple fixes that didn't require a full upgrade. Dirk appears to have quite a bit of programmer skills, and this vB version is not stock. i think Dirk has some knowledge here himself. Yes, that doesn't take care of all concerns.
No one mentioned about the site being too big in this thread as an excuse, and i don't think that is a valid excuse either. i do think that the fact Dirk is so busy and that he doesn't generally hand over things to others is likely a large reason why this hasn't been taken care of and things haven't changed much.
By the way, known exploit or not, things aren't bullet proof.
