Lack of Responses

I love this site, but I have been noticing that many tech questions receive no or very few responses. This is the largest thirdgen only, tech only site in the world, and yet there are many questions that are posted that don't receive much attention. And not bizarre questions, either, but stuff relating to why a car won't start, or a fan won't come on etc. I have one such question out there right now, but I have seen many others like this as well.

Just an observation.

That's because more people are using the thing that will usually find them their answers in a few seconds, the search. This site is doing great as in number of new users, posts, hits, Members online, etc., it keeps getting better. Just yesterday a new online at once record was set. When you have this many people posting questions on a site, things tend to get redundant and they've usually already been answered multiple times in other topics.

As Jason stated (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/2830463-post25.html) the forums appear to be doing well lately.

Perhaps you mistook my comment as a criticism of how the site is run? It was not intended as such.

And yes, I am well aware of the emphasis placed on the search function here, and use the feature prior to posting a query. That doesn't change the fact that questions go unanswered, and they are NOT all to be solved through a perusal of the archives.

Thanks for maintaining and administering the site, it is an awesome resource.
