Whats about making a Instant tech help IRC channel? not one for general chat but one to talk about tech stuff. I am 99% of the time logged into IRC and when i see people posting simple questions on the message boards i think it would be easier to reply using IRC to chat. I have read all of your reasons for not having a general chat and i agree with you now, not a good idea but i do think that a tech help channel would be nice.
