Child forums??

Child forums??
If you click on search and then go to advanced search, you will see a box that says -search in forums-. Now righ below that is a line that says -Also search in child forums with a box that can be checked. Now what is the "child forums"???? Thanks in advanced.

For the search purpose, they are the forums that are listed under the main category. For example,
Problems / Help / Suggestions / Comments

Are child forums to the Site Boards
