the only ones i can type are the smily face or the wink. when i try to type any others it doesnt work and i have to edit my msg and go advanced so i can have the emoticon i wanted.

so...is there a way to type in my emoticon? say i wanna type in in a post? do i post it like :eek!: or what?

 

I don't understand your problem because it appears to be working correctly for me. Yes, you type in to use that smilie when typing your message. The complete list, and their shortcuts, are listed here:

aah...ok, when i highlight the emoticon, it says "EEK!" so i thought i had to also include the exclimation mark. but now i got it
