Question about the automailer

Hi-

Stupid question...

I just recently started getting back into posting fairly heavily on the site.

For some reason I feel like the link in the automated emails sent out by the old TGO site (when there is a new response to a thread) used to take you to that specific post within the thread.

For example, if I am subscribed to a thread that has 7 pages, and the latest reply (and all replies after that reply which I haven't yet read) is on the seventh page, my clicking the link in the automated email should take me to the first unread post within the thread. Currently it just takes me to the top of the first page, which quickly becomes annoying when you are subscribed to many multiple-page threads.

Is there a user-setting somewhere that I'm missing? Am I correct in remembering that the old site used to work like this? If it did, is there any way to go back to this type of link?

It is something that is broken and was suspected to be due to the vBSEO product installed that converts vBulletin links into more "static" links. Xoxide, owners of ThirdGen.org, was working on this some time ago, but I have not heard anything further. This is not a user-end issue to my knowledge, therefore, not really anything you can do.

Hrmm, well thanks for the update.

Hopefully it's something that the guys haven't forgotten about. Seems like it would be a really helpful fix.

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate it!
