How to Become a Senior Member

Sorry I have to post this way but I've tried to ask this question many times through "Contact Us" and have gotten no response. The simple question is What Does It Take To become a Senior Member here on this Forum? I've been a member here now for 3 years and have given and gotten some great advise. However, I see some with less time here receive that Golden Senior Member status. Hopefully the responses don't get hostile. Thanks,

I think once you hit a certain # of posts you get to be a senior member.

Re: How to Become a Senior Member

Yea its by posts (500), which is wierd. I had though originally it was by age, because mine said junior for a while. And then all of a sudden i got member, and then senior. Some people post alot of crap to get it, and alot of junior guys have alot of good advice to give. Not really a big deal, i wouldnt bother with it. Just my 0.02

Re: How to Become a Senior Member

It is merely based on post count. Senior title is 500 posts. Note that not all forums count towards your post count. It is nothing more than a text title that does not net you any extra features or options. BTW, posting "crap" to get a simple text title, and if caught, we will take appropriate moderation action. ThirdGen.org is largely a tech-only website dedicated only to 3rd Gen F-bodies.

Re: How to Become a Senior Member

Really sad. It seems now that there is a way to become Senior you may see a rash of dumb posting just to get your count up. Oh wait a minute now I know why I see so many now. Maybe it should be based on term of membership and post (combination of). Looks like I have one more post to my name.

Almost all the sites I am a member of do the same. Even though I'm not, I get labeled as "newbie" untill x00 posts.

Someone should have been watching your posts. All one liners. And only after one year you have 1,600 posts. Do you have a real job? Hey you weighed in to this post with yet another one liner. Nice.

It's been that way for years, actually.

I suggest you read, or re-read, our Board Guidelines:

Re: How to Become a Senior Member

Most boards I have ever been involved in or have personally run myself all run off of post count. I don't see what the big deal is though as having the senior title doesn't get you anything extra.

Also I am sure throwing a fit and taking personal shots at members who are only here to answer your questions is a quick way to just get banned off the site then your junior or senior status won't matter at all.

That was a low blow. I was simply explaining that this is the norm on many sites. Just because I come here and try to help/get help from some fellow thidgenners and have a lot of posts in a short time, suddenly I'm the bad guy? I happen to be an active member who has helped a few people, bought/sold/gave parts to people. And BTW, yes I have a real job as a General Contractor and support four children and maintain my 5 vehicles. It's not my fault that I have started a couple of threads that have gotten resposes into the triple digits, apparently some people must be interested in what I have to say, weather it be long winded or not. Perhaps I enjoy conversing with other intelligent people and because I can say what I need to with one line, well....

Go ahead and read some of my posts and see how often I have made worthless comments. Seems like you are the only one complaining about my being here.

firstfirebird, there is no problem. Joker is on a probation status for his inability to follow simple, posted, forum rules despite warnings.

With that said, it's clear this thread is done with.
