Carlisle Event

I was wondering if we could get a thread started concerning the 2008 All GM Nationals at Carlisle PA in the Gatherings area. This is a huge event, and grows yearly. Great swap meet, great vendors, and super cars! The meeting of the 10th Annual Camaro Nationals is there as well. I went last year(traveled from NC), and it was great - definitely going again this year!

I posted about it some last year, and it seemed as though many folks didn't even know about it. There were quite alot of 3rd gens there, but there definitely could have been more!

You can see details about the event at www.carsatcarlisle.com (click events, then All GM Nationals) and at www.americancamaro.org (click Camaro Nationals). For a $30 registration fee (voter participation class), your car can be IN THE SHOW all weekend, regardless of it's condition - no parking hassles and free admission to the event all weekend!

Anyway, it justseems like there's never much posted under "gatherings" except the TGO event, and I think we need more postings about other events in the country.

Thanks.

Understand that this would not be the correct area to "inform" about the Carlisle event since this area is used to report issues and present reasonable suggestions and comments about the website itself.

The Carlisle event has usually been discussed in our North East Region: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/north-east-region/

In regard to the Gathering section, that area has mainly hosted large events that are put on by members/enthusiasts for our vehicles, with some of them having a large history here. They are more specialized for "us".

No deny that Carlisle is a huge event. There's many small/large events that are local/regional and are more broad on content. It would probably be difficult to have a forum for each of those events. Those events are probably best covered by posting in one of the many Regional forums that TGO provides, as that is one of the primary functions of those regional forums (to bring local members together).
