Pages loading slow due to ads (again)

Is anybody else experiencing the pages loading slowly due to ads? While going into a forum, the page starts to load, but hesitates while it loads the ads.doubleclick and the google-analytics info. I'm experiencing it with both IE and Firefox. I did reboot my PC. I'm not having issues with any other sites loading, only TGO.

I get around a 2-3 second pause when loading a page. During the pause, it is loading the google-analytics info.

Re: Pages loading slow due to ads (again)

Scott, a developer and I actually spent some time on this issue when you initally posted about it. We spent some time by troubleshooting things on the forum. We did find that a particular javascript appeared to be behind this issue. I also found another misc issue with the template that I will resolve, but it appears the bulk of the issue is with a javascript and IE.

I say appeared because it doesn't appear to be duplicated by everyone, or every computer/browser. The developer that I worked with could not duplicate it on their machines (old and new) and their browsers, or atleast not to the degree that I have noted and read from a few who have experienced the issue. I could duplicate it on my 3.0Ghz machine, but only in IE. With FireFox, the issue could not be duplicated for me.

It has been my understanding and experience, that FireFox tends to render the page as it is loading, while IE tends to "hang". It appears to us that IE is also having an issue with a javascript on our forums, while FireFox is not, or alteast not as common has IE. It could be possible that FireFox is impacted, but it appears far less than IE is (based on reports).

It was my impression that the development team would look into the issue to see how we could fix and resolve the javascript issue. I have not heard anything since.

I will see if I can find out some information and updates.

JT,
Some of what I was experiencing could have been my equipment. I just reset my cable modem and my wireless router and the pages load much faster now. I don't understand why TGO is the only website that gets affected.

I will assume you were exaggerating a bit on the "takes like an hour to load" part, but is this a recent issue, or a new one?

I'd also be interested in your specifications on of your machine.
