In the classified forums everywhere I've been there is no good way to tell where the seller is located.

Almost all the time I want to see what is for sale locally before ranging out.I would check by state about everyday.

A mandatory state box would be great and a city state would be excellent. To show up in the title would make you the gods of the internet.

As it is now everyone has to open each ad to see where it is located.

The problem is this isn't exactly a couple mouse clicks away. The option is not currently there with the current forum software. There are plugins (3rd party software to work with forums), but the issue is just about anyone can write/publish them. This makes for some poorly written/coded plugins that could lead to other issues. Therefore, we don't exactly install plugins unless necessary. In addition, scalability is also considered. If we simply had the state included, the next thing members will be requesting (understandably) is an efficient way to search for only content based per state, then perhaps distance, etc.

This has been mentioned before, and it was something I had thought of myself as I've seen it on another non-vB based forum. So it's on the list of "wants", and hopefully, will be a feature implemented sometime.

Thanks.
