Google Chrome

I recently downloaded google chrome for my browser and I like it better than internet explorer. The only problem is that I can't search because the search button isn't there, and up top where it says "home" "usercp" faq" and so on, its all white, and I have to highlight it to see what it says. Anyway to fix this, or am I gonna have to use explorer when I visit tgo?

Re: Google Chrome

Google Chrome is beta, and still new. It doesn't work on older versions of vB software - which we currently run. As we will be upgrading to a new vB version, we likely will not take the resources to fix and find why Chrome does not work with older vB software as there is little to gain. It appears to work better with the newer versions of vB. However, you should understand Google Chrome is beta and relatively new.

You don't have to return to IE. I'm sure you've heard of Firefox:
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

Firefox features a lot more 3rd party plugins, has a lot larger audience and usage, and is not beta.

Re: Google Chrome

I love Firefox, I don't like the new version though, I stuck with the old one, 2.0.0.17 from what it's telling me. Just my $.02

Re: Google Chrome

Give FireFox a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Re: Google Chrome

Well, some of it should be fixed. I spent a little time and found a few issues. In addition, it appears Safari was having similar issues - which appears to be better, too.

It's not 100% perfect. Chrome and Safari aren't (still) working with drop-down menus while FireFox and IE work correctly. This is actually related to the vB version we're running, and not a simple template fix. An upgrade should resolve it.

Still, I think you will find Firefox has more support, more plugins and works better. Google Chrome is beta.

Re: Google Chrome

So JT did you just fix what I was talking about within the 2.5 hours between your posts? I was a little confused about that. I just downloaded java for chrome because I needed it for another site, and then I visited here and the problem was fixed. I thought that was weird because this site doesn't run off java, right? JT is right about the drop down menus not working, though (I hadn't even noticed that). I will take your advice and give firefox a try. I have used it before on other peoples' computers, and it was "eh", but I'll take your word for it and try it out. Thanks for the help.

Yes, after my initial post and some other things finished, I then did some looking through the templates. I found and fixed a few things that caused the issue with Chrome (and Safari) not displaying the menu bar correctly.
