Alright, I need some help guys

Alright, I wanted to a moderator of the classified section really, before I did this. I recently bought a '91 Z/28 from a very well respected dealership. It was badged a 350 and the window sticker/advertisement say it's a 350. I was shown a clean carfax, so I never checked the VIN, because they have an excellent reputation.

Unfortunately, the car, in reality, has a 305. I have them on record saying they knew it was a 305, and even if I didn't, in NC it's their responsibility to know that kind of thing.

Despite their reputation, they are refusing to 'right' the situation, at all, and I'm now forced to take them to court. I am planning on suing them for the market value difference between a 305 car and a 350 car. Now, you and I, and pretty much everyone, knows that the blue book/NADA/etc are not representative of what the actual market value of a car is. Hell, the one I bought, despite being a 305, is in immaculate condition, and would easily sell for 4-5k, but the blue book is somewhere around $1500.

What I'm asking is, so that I have a fair representation of market difference, would it be possible to make a thread in the classified section asking for opinions on what the market difference actually is? I've already cross-referenced it with NC statutes, and a specialized discussion group is an acceptable substitute for blue book difference on cars past a certain age.

If it's not OK, that's completely fine, I just wanted to ask before I started breaking any rules.

You may post your question in the History/Restoration forum. In my opinion, with the users that frequent that forum, it's probably the closest and best forum to answer such a value question.

Good luck.

tchernobog,

I apologize, I did not receive your PM until just now (2:16 3/7/2009). As JT said, historically these type of questions have been answered on History/Restoration.

Anyway, I just wanted to apologize that I could not get back to you earlier, I just could not get online today.

Best wishes and sorry to hear of your misfortune.

No worries, I'm not in any rush, my court date isn't for quite awhile yet, I was just bored today (off from work, as a tech at a GM dealership, which makes me feel even dumber for falling for this)

I appreciate the responses, and thank you for the well wishes.
