Photo Albums
I am having trouble transferring photos, to my photo album on this site. Has anything been changed? I have a few pictures here and I am using the same camera and method that I used in the past. Thanks
Re: Photo Albums
What is the error message? What exactly is happening?
I'm going to take an advanced guess and say the pictures you're trying to upload are too large in size.
The settings itself, for the album, have not changed. The limitations are noted, below the upload fields (Maximum File Size per Picture 97.7 KB). With today's cameras, you're likely going to need to either edit them to fit within that limitation, or adjust your camera to take lower resolution.

Re: Photo Albums
Thanks JT, Thats what my daughter just tried to tell me. Someone (me) must have turned the *** on the camera. I will have to retake the photo. Kids these days, lol they are to smart.
Re: Photo Albums
I would try to reduce them instead of re-taking the pictures.
There are two programs that I personally recommend when needing to edit images. Both programs are free:
The Gimp: http://www.gimp.org/
This program can be quite complex, thus, it can take time to learn how to use. However, it's a powerful program when needing to edit photos.
IrfanView: http://www.irfanview.com/
This program is lightweight and pretty easy to use. However, it's not as powerful as The Gimp. This program will do your basic editing (setting dimensions, cropping, etc.).
Using IrfanView as an example, which after you download and install it, click on File and Open to locate the image on your computer that you wish to edit. To simply scale the photo down to fit a set pixel dimension, you can click on Image and Resize/Resample. Under the Set New Size, enter the dimension you want the image to be. Make sure Preserve Aspect Ratio is enabled so that the image isn't distorted. With the Preserve Aspect Ratio set, you will only be able to enter a Width or a Height and the system will calculate and fill in the other value to preserve the aspect ratio. You can do this to quickly reduce the file size of the image.
If there's just a few photos, you can email them to me at jt@thirdgen.org and I'll give them a quick fix.
