Hey guys,

I went to modify my signature today, just to delete and change some wording but it says my signature is too long and can only be 7 lines? It's been the same size since I joined the site and even 2 years ago when I did my engine swap it allowed me to change it without deleting a bunch fo stuff. Any idea how to deal with the 7-line limit? Or am I just stuck? Thanks.

 

Sorry, but your signature is (as I count) 12 lines with breaks included. This is well over the signature guidelines of 5 lines or less - which the rule itself has not changed in several years.

Specifically:
If your sig is more than 5 lines of text, or contains an image greater than 30k or 400x100 pixels, please do your best to reduce it's size.

The reason why this was not an issue for you, until now, is due to the way the system works. Some time ago (likely a year or longer), I did enter a hard value into the maximum signature lines field. This was done to try and attack any signature violations upfront - rather than be reactive - as so many seem to gloss over this limitation. However, such changes to the settings don't impact a "violator" until they go to change their signature as that's when the settings are enforced by the system.
