how do i do it? i don't need, want, or expect an email every time someone responds to a thread i happen to post in. it just clutters up my inbox. no other forum i'm on has email notifications as the default..

 

To turn off email notifications for thread activity by default, go to:

1) User CP:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/usercp.php

2) Go to Edit Options:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/prof...do=editoptions

3) Under Default Thread Subscription Mode which is under Messaging & Notification change to Do Not Subscribe or No Email notification

You'll still get email notification for previously subscribed threads. To turn all of those off:

1) Go to UserCP:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/usercp.php

2) Click on the View All Subscribed Threads:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/subs...n&folderid=all

3) Delete all the subscriptions or change them to No email notification
