is there some reason the site can't automatically adjust pics to fit in the required size? It's a PITA to change every damn pic I want to upload into the gallery.....

Your phone/pc can likely do that because they're the host (they have the picture locally).

The forum software can, and does, attempt to resize photos that are slightly larger in size than what's allowed but there's limitations. For security, the server only allows approximately 2MB of upload. This isn't really all that uncommon on other forums.

 

Rather than starting a new thread, the issue I'm having with uploading images to the gallery is I'm uploading nice clear pics but once they are uploaded and I view them in the gallery they are blurry. The image parameters is either 97.7kb max or 800x800mp. These are difficult parameters to meet. I am uploading images that are 640x480, yet they are still 300kb in size. I don't really see how you can have a 800x800 image and have it only be 97.7kb big.
What am I doing wrong?

 

I don't see any albums in your profile to see examples. Pictures are limited to 97.7 KB in file size or 800 x 600 Pixels in dimension size. As the upload manager states, manual results may be better than what the software does. There's other things that impact file size besides dimensions - such as compression - and it can be specific to the programs being used to save/edit the photos.
