im not starting a political debate. do we really need to have that obama political banner on the page? its not even related to TGO. Its disturbing

This has been raised a few times over the years. The bottom line is that the ads pay for everyone to use the site for free despite the site does not operate on free hardware, free software, nor free human resources and is owned by a for-profit company. We can't eliminate political ads simply due to them not being TGO related, because then just about every ad would be in the same category (Ford ads, etc.). That there is far from enough ThirdGen products or services, it is required for non-ThirdGen advertising to help with the above and is common practice on just about any website. Additionally, ads served through the Google network are often tailored to the person who is loading the webpages and can be based on your IP address history from Google, your browser history, your location, etc.
