Hello everyone, I'd like to start by saying I'm glad I could finally join you all. On exactly the date of my 18th birthday to be exact. I've been following and running around the boards for some time, and I must say this is the most helpful place on the Internet, specially for a guy like me.
First off, a little background on me. I've always been a car guy, since my first birthday with a Jeff Gordon car on the cake. That sealed the deal. From then, it started as any other, 1 dollar hot wheels cars. And now to my first car I've gotten about 2 years ago, my Third gen. I want to learn more and more, and I'm hoping the car combined with the knowledge of you guys on here, that'll happen.
The story of the car, well. Me being a teenager and looking for a car with $2,000 dollars... Well... You look in odd places. Then my dad came home from work, and he said his co worker was selling a Camaro. A teal, 92 25th anniversary, 6cyl. I wasn't too sold... Then I rode in it, and loved it. It had a miss fire however, and I needed something more reliable. Plus she wanted $3,500 that, well, I just didn't have. 4 months later, I came across this 3rd gen Camaro. INSTANTLY went out and looked at it. The previous owner was having it worked on and passed away. The family just wanted it sold, and it was still at the shop. The guy who ran the shop popped the hood, and couldn't tell me if it was a V8 or a V6, let alone anything else. Right then I knew I had him. He wanted 2,500.. But couldn't tell me anything about it. Like, seriously? So, long story short, got it down to 2K. Aaaannnddddd towed home.
After some testing, (flipping the key to accessory) I figured the fuel pump was out. Dropped the tank. Switched it. Boom. The monster was alive. And with the help of the forums, I've been working out the bugs.
I plan to slowly build it, now that it's in working condition, I need to figure out what comes next. I'm thinking my first step should be to actually get it out on the road (I get my license next week, long story. No, I didn't get any tickets or anything. FL DMV just sucks). After that, I'm kinda assuming after 25 years, the suspension is going to be... Well... Shot. The shocks don't seem to be actually shot.. Well, via the DIY bounce on the corner test. But, it sits like it has a 2 inch loading kit, SO, I think that'll be my first step. And I'm going to be looking for some help on this.
What shocks and springs should I be going with? I want to keep it low and I know replacing this will raise it, so I was thinking KONI yellows and the Eibach Pro kit (I think?). But what else should I look at? I've heard the lower control arm, but I'm not real suspension savvy. Like I said. Learning. So, help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

SCORE! lol. that's a cleeeean $2000 camaro. You should have seen the pile Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear picked up in Florida, season 9, for about the same price.
You could check out the ball joints and tie rods. Brakes. And before you change the struts check the strut mounts.
You sound like the type of person who would get a lot of enjoyment out of the GM repair manual for your car, you can find them in used book stores, online, or find/buy a digital copy online.
Good luck
Sure are. Very handsome. I don't recall seeing that shade of blue before. I like it.
Thanks again! It seems to have been repainted, it was originally the more.. Perhaps.. Teal? Color.

Thanks to you as well I88, I actually DO have the original baby book for it. And yeah, I got extemly lucky, however upon further inspection the car was in an accident. I have had it for close to 2 years now. I've had a lot of time to go through it all. Hahaha
