Help finding a switchable "keyed on" power source for my new fan
I'm going to wire up a new 16" single fan. The relay kit comes with a new temperature sensor and I have to find an auxiliary keyed on power source. I saw a pic on here of someone's car and I can't find where I saw it that showed what I think is a circuit breaker on the lower passenger side of the radiator. Is that a keyed on power source. I just don't know what's an easy place to find one. If you have pics please put them up here so I can see it.

I was hoping not to have to run a wire along the engine compartment, looking for some where close

Hi,
When I hooked up an aftermarket fan controller I used the switched wire going to the original fan relay since I wasn't using it anymore. That was right by where I mounted the controller, but don't know where yours is...

Which wire is the switched wire? I've got a 92 like you. I just see the wires that have the connectors going to the fan, that's all, unless I'm missing something. Or are you talking about using the OEM harness for both switchable power and ground, then running the constant power to the battery?

Don't know what kind of kit you have, mines a Derale kit with a radiator probe and it's own relay/controller module. I mounted it on the bracket that houses the fan and fuel pump relays on the firewall right in front of the driver seat. There are 4 wires going to the fan relay. Big red and big black for power to the fan and green and white wire for the fan switch grounding wire, and a skinny grey wire for voltage with key on that I tapped into because the location worked for me I was no longer using the stock fan relay,so it seemed good for me

Oh yeah, and I just unplugged the stock fan pigtail and used another pigtail from the wrecking yard to hook up the kits power and actuating wires leaving original wiring intact but tied out of the way. If I had it to do again I might use one with a sensor that goes in the head for more accurate on and off points, but I took the easiest route at the time. Hope this helps some
