Any idea what these are

Trying to figure out what these are. Any help is appreciated.

Do you know if they can be traced back and removed with some negative effect? As the valve has been removed (never existed while I have owned the car) the wires just hang in the engine compartment. I haven't been able to find a pic of the EGR valve on a TBI 305 or the wiring diagram.
