December 17th Cruise & Dinner

Who is interested in having a cruise and dinner sometime during early December?

We could go thru Idlywild north to Morongo Casino (yes I like that place).

Or we could go North or South on Pacific Coast Highway and find a place at either end on the beach.

Or we could drive up to Big Bear. But that would be cold and it gets dark early up there.

Any other ideas?

What's the center of gravity for all the folks in the LA/SoCal area?

What you suggested sounds fun!

I know you mentioned dinner, but just throwing some ideas out...

Meet Saturday AM at Cars and Coffee Aliso Viejo. Afterwards, take Ortega HWY inland or PCH N/S to a lunch spot.

The Angeles Crest Highway to Newcomb's Ranch for lunch is great, and lots of cool spots to stop and take thirdgen photos.

Supercar Sunday Cars & Coffee in Topanga, followed by driving through the Santa Monica Mountains, stopping for lunch somewhere along PCH in Malibu/Santa Monica.

Just some ideas...

re: December 17th Cruise & Dinner

SoCal people are all over the map from Ventura to San Diego to San Bernadino and Riverside. There really isnt a central location.

I just wish people were more active again. Almost two weeks and this post has one reply. We havent had a cruise in a long while. No one wants to go anywhere and get together any more?

re: December 17th Cruise & Dinner

How does this sound?

Start in Long Beach near the Queen Mary, head South along Shoreline drive where the Long Beach Grand Prix races, then join up with Pacific Coast Highway South to Laguna Beach.
Then take the 133 North to the Irvine Spectrum, have dinner there, and then play at Dave & Buster's until we get tired.

The Queen Mary charges for parking though. So does the Aquarium of the Pacific, but they give 30 minutes free. That wouldnt be enough time though, as the first people there (me) would probably end up paying to leave. Does someone live in the area and knows of a mall or other parking area we can meet at?

The whole route takes about 75 minutes though, so its pretty short.

What day is best for everyone? Saturday the 10th? Saturday the 17th of December?

They both sound good, how about the 10th maybe less Christmas traffic?

re: December 17th Cruise & Dinner

Ok we have a plan. It will be Saturday December 10th. I am sorry Lon but that is the only day my wife is available.

We will start at 2:30pm at 6601 Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach 90803. I'm told there is an abandoned movie theater there, we can use their parking lot.

At 3pm we will travel southeast on PCH until we get to Laguna Beach, then turn North on Hwy 133 to the 405, then to the Irvine Spectrum. Dinner will be at the Red Robin restaurant there. After dinner we'll head to Dave & Busters and eat, drink, and be merry until we're done.

Every thirdgenner is welcome, even if your car is down right now.

Please let me know you're coming, so I can save us a table at Red Robin.

Hope to see you there!

The ride looks to be an hour or so of actual drive time, so I can't imagine it being a late dinner. Works in my favor, too!

re: December 17th Cruise & Dinner

I had every intention of coming to this one (I've missed so many of these meets already) but my wife just gave birth to my daughter on Monday and while the baby is doing well my wife is in recovery for the next couple weeks; so unfortuantly I'll have to bow out. Sorry guys.

The rain is supposed to stop today and be sunny tomorrow.

We'll meet at 6601 Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach 90803 at 2:30pm and leave around 3pm.

See you there.
